Up until now, outsourcing deals have primarily focused on the lowest price and efficiency. A solid contract, a comprehensive management organisation and a complete package of SLAs with bonus/penalty schemes should steer everything in the right direction. This model is not always successful and certainly not sustainable. The future lies in partnerships with the starting point being shared interests, openness and trust. Ecosystems are entirely in tune with this. Additional advantage: thinking and acting on the basis of an ecosystem is conducive to innovation.
